The programme in Spain is for high-school students aged 15 to 18. A basic knowledge of Spanish helps with settling in. Placements are made anywhere in the country.

The programme opens with a three-day activity in Barcelona or Málaga. Guaranteed choice of city or region is available at additional cost.

Spanish regions differ greatly from one another, culturally, socially and in climate — but what they all share is an exceptional multicultural folklore that shows up in every part of social life. The exuberance and hospitality of the Spanish will sweep you along.
The school system
Spanish education is compulsory until age 16, and most schools are public. Students then choose between the Bachillerato (equivalent to the Italian liceo) and more technical schools; international students join the Bachillerato.
You follow the subjects for your reference school year, always including Spanish, English, maths, science and PE.

AFSAI's programme is for young people aged 15 to 18 with a basic knowledge of Spanish (and English). You'll be hosted by a Spanish family and immerse yourself in the country's culture, history and traditions — from literature to food, from sport to its many artistic attractions.
