AFSAI's programme is for high-school students aged 15 to 18 with a good knowledge of English. Placement is guaranteed in South Australia, in the metropolitan area of Adelaide.

The Australian school year runs from late January to mid December, split into four terms.

The sheer scale, the ancient Aboriginal traditions and a New-World culture have shaped the character of this vast, multicultural country. You'll be struck by the hospitality and warmth of a place that has made "take it easy" its motto. Sport is a religion: Australians are champions at cricket, rugby, swimming and cycling.
The school system
The Australian system has an eight-year primary cycle and a four-year secondary cycle, twelve years in total. The year is divided into four terms with roughly two weeks' holiday between them.
Every school offers optional courses across many fields and a rich programme of extracurricular activities.
